| I just had a problem with bridge where i could not open jpegs in camera RAW that I had just downloaded - when right-clicking on an image in bridge, there would be no option to open in camera RAW (ACR).
What was weird was that I could open jpegs from another batch that I had edited earlier in the day...
Even more weird, if I selected 100 images and double clicked, the first couple opened up in ACR, but then the rest opened in photoshop.
Fix was to purge the cache in bridge - this was under Preferences >>Cache >> Purge Cache. I tried Compact Cache and it didn't do anything.
There is also a way to purge the cache in ACR, which I did also, but it didn't seem to help.
Hopefully this will help someone else!
